OUR STORY

The heart of South Indian flavor in Alpharetta

The Story

Sambar to Sukka has become a neighborhood institution in Alpharetta — the kind of place where families celebrate birthdays, couples discover Chettinad chicken for the first time, and homesick Tamilians find a taste of home. What started as a mission to bring real South Indian flavors to suburban Atlanta is now a beloved destination for anyone craving the bold spices and slow-cooked comfort of the South.

The Food

Our name says it all. Sambar — the comforting lentil stew that anchors every South Indian meal. Sukka — the dry-roasted, pepper-crusted preparations that make Chettinad cuisine legendary.

Between those two poles, we've got over a hundred dishes — crispy dosas, fragrant biryanis, rich paneer curries, and tandoor-fired breads — each one made fresh to order.

Chettinad Heritage

Chettinad cuisine comes from the Nattukottai Chettiars of Tamil Nadu — a merchant community whose kitchens evolved through centuries of spice trade.

Star anise, kalpasi, Marathi mokku — spices you won't find in any other regional Indian cooking. When you order our Chettinad Chicken or Lamb Pepper Fry, you're tasting that heritage.
